Let’s do this thing!

👋 I’m a UX and digital product designer with more than 13 years of experience, leading teams and projects in delivering design solutions used by hundreds of millions of people, every day.

I love solving complex problems with holistic solutions that improve people’s lives. Outside of design, I also love board games, most sports, nature, and nice coffee’s.

Spotify

LONDON, UK & GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN • JAN 2016 – ONGOIN

I was the first designer in the Gothenburg office, establishing a design culture there and building a team. In the wider org, I’m part of the core experience team focusing on the key features of the mobile application. I have been responsible playlists and library section including how to collect, curate and browse your content on Spotify. I have also lead the design of the playing screens as well as the podcast experience.

Playlist consolidation

The ground truth for playlists

Almost all consumption on Spotify is from a playlist. Because of this, many teams run experiments on the playlist page. I was my job to review the experiments, define guardrails and create an ideal UX that was flexible enough to cover the innovations without becoming inconsistent to our users.

New playing view

Systemising the playing expereince

The Now Playing View is one of the most popular destinations on Spotify. However, over the course of many years, it had gotten inconsistent, hard to work with and out of date in general. The redesign I did turned the page into platform and provided a much better user experience.

Assisted curation

Making playlisting easy and fun

Playlists has always been the bread and butter of Spotify but the experience has largely stayed the same since the inception. With assisted curation users can take full advantage of machine learning and personalisation to make the playlist creation easy, delightful and fun.

Me

Reinventing Your Library

The ‘Your Library’ tab in Spotify is where people collect all their Spotify content but it has always felt very impersonal and stale. In the Me project the aim was to reinvent the library by having people’s personality and taste as a pervasive element while also making it more user friendly.

Samsung

LONDON, UK • JUN 2010 – JAN 2016

At Samsung, I worked on numerous services and applications with everything from high level concepts to line up solutions. I was involved throughout the entire design process from research and opportunity finding to ideation, design and wire framing to development and usability studying. I worked on a variety of interesting fields such as education, healthcare, big data, connected cars, wearables and many more.

Press Note

I designed of the journalist application called Press Note which was a line up project for the London Olympics. I was living in Seoul for 3 months and collaborated with developers and other stakeholders. The final solution was demonstrated during the Olympics.

Voice recorder

When I designed the Press Note solution I also had to redesign the voice recorder application in order to cater for journalists more advanced needs. This version has since been incorporated in all devices and is now the standard voice recording application.

Multi window

Multi Window is a high profile and much appreciated feature which has given Samsung differentiation for years and I was in charge of a project that laid the base for the idea. Originally designed for the first Galaxy Note the design was introduced in Note 2.

Sony Ericsson

MANCHESTER, UK & LUND, SWEDEN • JAN 2008 – FEB 2010

I was first working at Sony Ericsson in Manchester and then in Lund. Here I did a lot of work for a lot of applications and services, some I created from scratch and some were improvements to already existing ones. I also worked on several for future concepts.

Play Now

Before the app store there was Sony Ericsson’s Play Now. I was responsible for the design for several mobile products including the Xperia X10 and X10 mini.

Gallery

When I designed the gallery application for the Xperia line I created a clean UI with a fancy 3d perspective in landscape. The galleries are also seamlessly connected to the web.

Camera

I have created several camera designs including this one for Sony Ericsson’s X10 mini. This design was started from scratch and I removed all clutter to create a clean and easy to use UI.
